Hers is just one of the many Finn McCool stories.
Finn McCool
The giants of Erinn had waged war on the giants of Alba (the ancient name for Scotland). One day Fionn MacComaill (Finn McCool) picked up a clu,p of dirt and threw it at Far Rua, a giant who stood on the shores of Alba, and killed him. The rains came and filled the spot where Finn had torn the earth, and the place was called Lough Neagh (Pronounced Loch Nay. It was to the North, and was the largest lake in all of Erinn. Then the country had been at peace for a thousand times a thousand years.
If you walk to the south, you can see where the giant Finn is buried along the Liffy River. There is a great hill there, and that's where the head is. The giant had felt himself growing old and he had lay down along the river and covered himself with dirt.
